1. Suitable structural damping ratio

In the overall calculation of steel structure building, especially according to the requirements of seismic code, it is very necessary to choose the appropriate structural damping ratio. Because different steel structures have different seismic influence coefficients, the selection of damping ratio should be based on the proportion of materials. 2. Rigid column base design

The commonly used column bases of steel structure buildings are embedded type, external type and exposed type, and the exposed type is more convenient for on-site installation and positioning. It should be noted that the stiffness of the column base is realized by the elastic or plastic deformation of the base plate. Therefore, in the design, it should be considered that the limit value of the story drift angle should have a certain margin, and the bending moment at the top of the column caused by the downward movement of the bending moment reacts on the bending point of the bottom steel column.

3. Floor design

Steel structure building has precast floor, cast-in-place floor, composite floor and so on. If precast slabs are used, floor joint cracking due to temperature variation and load distribution should be considered. In addition, in the floor design, attention should be paid to avoid one-way centralized layout, and try to form a two-way load-bearing structure.

4. Beam column rigid connection design.

Conventional design method or full section bending design method can be used to calculate the beam column rigid connection in steel structure buildings. When the bending capacity of steel beam flange is more than 70% of the total section capacity, the conventional design method can be used. If it is less than 70%, full section bending design method shall be adopted.
